Zoe-perry

Perry has the father of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television were two episodes on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in the ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Perry was forbidden to perform in front of her family until an adulthood stage, because they feared the strain it might cause. Perry said she was shy to do any acting in high school but began doing shows in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry was able to begin her acting career in New York after graduation, performing in minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry go back to California to pursue work as a stage actress. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. Her father was also in the production. Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in nine episodes of the ABC film The Family in 2016. In 2017, she had a recurring role on The ABC drama about politics Scandal with her father. That same year she was chosen to portray a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again acting as a younger version her mother's role. The actress was chosen for the part despite having a close relationship with the character's family.
